After splitting back-to-back games on the road, the Houston Dash return to BBVA Compass Stadium at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 20 (TICKETS) to host U.S. Women’s National Team star Alex Morgan and the Orlando Pride.

The Pride defeated Western New York Flash 1-0 at World Camping Stadium on Sunday.  Morgan scored the decisive goal in the 79th minute with an assist from Kristen Edmonds. USWNT and Pride GK Ashlyn Harris recorded her second clean sheet of the season and has the third most saves in the league with 19.

Potential impact players include Lianne Sanderson, scored her first goal of the season in the Pride’s 3-1 victory over the Dash from a free kick in the second half. Sanderson scored her second goal of the season earlier this month in a 2-0 victory over Seattle Reign FC. Morgan forced a save from Reign FC goalkeeper Hope Solo that fell to Sanderson for an open net goal.

Defender Stephanie Catley is an additional player to watch due to her offensive contributions this season. Catley scored the first goal in franchise history earlier this season and registered an assist in the Pride’s home opening victory.

The Pride are led by head coach Tom Sermanni, who previously coached the USWNT in 2013. Additionally, the Pride roster includes three players that previously played for the Dash in Becky Edwards, Toni Pressley and Kaylyn Kyle.

The two clubs last met on April 23 in front of an NWSL-record crowd of 23,403 when Dash midfielder Andressa scored her first goal with the club. Her long-range effort was a NWSL Goal of the Week nominee. This will be the second of four meetings between the clubs and the first in Texas. The next meeting will take place on June 23 in Orlando.
