Dust off the lightsaber, get your Jedi robes, put on your Stormtrooper helmet. It's a Star Wars costume contest in the Bud Light Beer Garden before Star Wars night at BBVA Compass Stadium on Saturday night!
Check-in for the contest, which is free, starts at 6 p.m. in the Bud Light Beer Garden on Orange Ave. on Saturday. There are three categories: Youth, Women, and Men, and will be judged by CBS Radio personalities.
The finalists from each category will be presented on the field at halftime of the Dynamo vs. D.C. United match and voted on by the crowd! Winners will receive an autographed Star Wars-themed Dynamo scarf and ticket to an upcoming Dynamo match, in addition to the admiration of the Rebel Alliance.
*Guests wearing a mask must remove the mask upon entry into the stadium, when purchasing alcohol and for any other purpose of identification. Any prop resembling a firearm, realistic or not, will not be allowed in the stadium. Lightsabers will be allowed inside the stadium. As Obi-Wan said, lightsabers are "not as clumsy or random as a blaster; an elegant weapon for a more civilized age."
