DYNAMO TEAM NOTES

  • With the loss the Dynamo are now 4-9-6 on the season (18 points).
  • Houston is now 0-8-3 on the road this season.
  • Houston’s all-time record against the LA Galaxy is now 9-9-5 and 3-5-2 in Los Angeles. The Dynamo’s last victory on the road against the Galaxy came on May 23, 2013 in a game that finished 1-0.
  • Houston is now 1-1-1 in July following a 0-1-2 mark in June.
  • This was the seventh MLS match managed by Interim head coach Wade Barrett and his record is now 1-2-4 on the Dynamo sideline.
  • Barrett made three changes to the starting lineup following a scoreless draw with Orlando City SC on July 8. GK Joe Willis came in for GK Tyler Deric due to a left abdominal strain, D Sheanon Williams replaced D DaMarcus Beasley due to midweek surgery on his left knee and F Andrew Wenger replaced F Will Bruin.


DYNAMO PLAYER NOTES

  • D DaMarcus Beasley was unavailable for the match after undergoing minor surgery on his left knee earlier this week. His return date is undetermined.
  • MF Ricardo Clark wore the captain’s armband in place of Beasley for the first time this season under interim head coach Wade Barrett.
  • GK Tyler Deric was unavailable for the match after sustaining a left abdominal strain in practice on Thursday.
  • GK Joe Willis replaced Deric in the starting lineup. It was Willis’ ninth league start this season and first since May 15 vs. Real Salt Lake.
  • D Sheanon Williams replaced Beasley in the starting lineup and moved to right back, with D Jalil Anibaba shifting to Beasley’s left back position.
  • MF Andrew Wenger replaced FW Will Bruin in the starting lineup. It was Wenger’s 17th start of the season and first in league play since June 26 at Portland after entering the game as a substitute in the last two games.
  • FW Giles Barnes started at forward for the first time since April 30 at Real Salt Lake. It was his third start at forward this season.
  • Clark made his 250th career start in all competitions with Houston. He is second on the club list, trailing Brad Davis (302).
  • MF Collen Warner made his 150th career MLS appearance.
  • Warner was issued a yellow card in the 24th minute for a tactical foul against Steven Gerrard. It was Warner’s first caution of the season.
  • MF Cristian Maidana entered for MF Boniek García in the 62nd minute. It was Maidana’s 16th appearance of the year and fifth as a substitute.
  • FW Erick Torres replaced MF Andrew Wenger in the 81st minute. It was Torres’ eighth appearance of the season, his sixth as a reserve, and first since June 2 at FC Dallas.
  • FW Mauro Manotas subbed on for D Sheanon Williams in the 86th minute. It was Manotas’ ninth league appearance of the season, all as a substitute. The Dynamo played with three players in defense after Williams’ departure.
