The Houston Dash recorded their first win and scored their first goals since May 7 in a 3-0 victory over Portland Thorns FC on Saturday night at BBVA Compass Stadium.

Forward Rachel Daly broke a 567 minute scoreless streak for the Dash in the 7th minute of the match. Kealia Ohai put a low cross through the box that missed Melissa Henderson and a pair of defenders at the front post, but Daly reached it on the back side. Her clipped shot skipped off the underside of the crossbar and over the line for her second goal of the year.

Amber Brooks doubled the lead against her former club in the 68th minute. A cleared Dash corner kick fell to defender Becca Moros, who collected the ball and attempted a shot from the edge of the 18-yard box. The shot was deflected up, but still found Brooks running at the back post for a tap-in goal, her first for Houston.

Kealia Ohai capped the night in the 83rd minute with a strong solo run and finish. Ohai attempted to play a pass inside to substitute Megean Crosson, but it bounced off a defender and back into her path as she continued her run down the left side. The captain used her pace to round the defense in the box and finished with a curling shot that kissed off the inside of the far post and in.

Both sides were without seven players due to Olympic preparations. The Dash return to action next Saturday, July 23 in Chicago against the Red Stars.
