Host nation Brazil rolled through China 3-0 in their opening Olympic match on Tuesday afternoon behind goals from Monica, Andressa Alves, Cristiane.

Houston Dash midfielder Andressa came on as a substitute in the 58th minute and immediately showed her quality. A minute after entering, the young midfielder lofted a perfectly weighted pass into the channel for Marta. The legendary forward dribbled into the box and crossed for Alves for the second goal of the game.

Andressa provided the ball for the final goal of the night as well, as her free kick found the head of Cristiane to seal the victory in the 90th minute. Dash defender Poliana also made a substitute appearance, entering in the 85th minute.

Brazil (1-0-0, 3 points) will take on Sweden (1-0-0, 3 points) on Saturday night in a clash at the top of the Group E table. China (0-1-0, 0 points) will face South Africa (0-1-0, 0 points) earlier in the day.

Andressa and Poliana return to BBVA Compass Stadium in September as the Dash return to NWSL action after the Olympic Games. A special Club and Country pack is available for those matches at HoustonDashSoccer.com/Tickets.
