The Colombian joins Brian Ching, Brad Davis, Nate Jaqua, and Will Bruin in the club record books with three or more goals in a single game. Ching scored the first in the team's inaugural match on April 2, 2006, netting four goals against the Colorado Rapids. The Dynamo tallied two in the 2007 season, with Davis getting his on June 21 and Jaqua adding another on September 8. Ching's second occurred on August 21, 2010, while Bruin's hat trick came during his 2011 rookie season on April 29.

At 21 years, 2 months, and 9 days, Manotas is the youngest in team history to score a hat trick, edging out Bruin (21 years, 6 months, 5 days). Manotas' hat trick is also the first by a Dynamo player at BBVA Compass Stadium. The previous five all came at Robertson Stadium.
