Three weeks ago, BBVA Compass, through its Bright Futures initiative, and the Houston Dynamo launched “The Pitch.” Small businesses and start-ups were encouraged to submit a business plan describing why they have a bright future in their industry.
Four finalists were selected from more than 120 entrees by a panel of judges from BBVA Compass Bank and the Houston Dynamo.
“All entrants for this initiative had exciting ideas and business plans,” said BBVA Compass Houston CEO Mark Montgomery. “BBVA Compass believes in assisting those with bright ideas in realizing their bright futures, and whoever the fans choose online as the winner will have an exciting opportunity ahead of them.”
The finalists include JC Sports, a toddler and youth indoor sports center; The Green Bone, an all-natural pet day care, boarding and spa service; Texas Redbird Remodeling, a residential remodeling company for anything around the home; and Bayou City Bike Tours, which encourages a more bike friendly community with fun and informative bike tours.
Each of the finalists was asked to produce a short video about themselves, and fans now have the opportunity to log on to HoustonDynamo.com to watch the videos and select which business they think should be the winner.
The winning company will be announced during the Dynamo match on Sunday, October 16 against the LA Galaxy and will receive a consultation with an executive from the Houston Dynamo and BBVA Compass, as well as $10,000 to build their business.
