Houston Dynamo midfielder Boniek García was called up to the Honduras national team for a training camp prior to the start of the hexagonal round of CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying, Honduras head coach Jorge Luis Pinto announced today. The camp is scheduled to run from October 30 to November 3.
Honduras will host Panama on November 11 and Trinidad & Tobago on November 15 to kick off the final round of regional qualifying. García, 32, has made six appearances for Los Catrachos in qualifying matches for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
García had one of his best years for the Dynamo in 2016, setting career highs in appearances (31), minutes (2,249), and assists (9). The Tegucigalpa, Honduras, native has 109 caps for his national team.
