Dynamo Academy Team of the Week - Jan. 24

Click here for a recap of last weekend's matches against Dallas Texans.

Goalkeeper: Jonathan Gomez, U-13 Pre- Academy

Jonathan performed well for the U-13’s this past weekend in Denton. He commanded his box with authority and made some key saves and punches early on. Jonathan only joined us in October, but has proved critical to us at various times this season.

Defender: Christian Murillo, U-13 Pre-Academy

Christian was yet again excellent in his side’s 1-0 loss at the weekend. His tireless work ethic and his willingness to compete means he is always one of the first names on the team sheet. Did you know? This is the first time two brothers have featured on the same Team of the Week. #Welch

Defender: David Brown, U-16 Academy

David put in a commanding performance in his side's 2-1 win at the weekend over the Dallas Texans. He was instrumental to his side both going forward and defensively.

Defender: Louis Thomas, U-18 Academy

Louis was excellent over the weekend for the U-18 Academy team. His ability to play forward from his center back position as well as his ability to defend has been critical in the 18’s recent success.

Midfielder: Christian Diaz, U-18 Academy

Christian is really starting to settle into the holding midfield position for the U-18’s. He provides a great work rate and tidy distribution from the center of the park and is getting better with each game.

Midfielder: Memo Rodriguez, U-18 Academy

Memo was fantastic as an attacking midfielder for the U17/18’s this past weekend. He showed a great range of passing, coupled with a creative spark from the middle of the park.

Midfielder: Daniel Wiseman, U-13 Pre-Academy

Daniel put in an impressive performance as the U-13s fell 1-0 in Denton this past weekend. The technically gifted midfielder was at the heart of the play and rarely conceded possession. He keeps the play moving and always picks the right pass.

Midfielder: Alex Quintanilla, U-16 Academy

Alex was excellent as his side soared to victory this weekend versus the Dallas Texans. He played a part in everything good that the U-16s did going forward.

Forward: Christian Lucatero, U-16 Academy

Christian scored both his side’s goals this past weekend as the U16’s beat the Dallas Texans 2-1. Christian was not only clinical in front of goal, but he was also forever linking play and creating opportunities from his outside forward position.

Forward: Carlos Ibarra, U-18 Academy

Carlos was again lively in his side's 1-0 loss at the weekend. The skillful forward not only supplies his teammates with fantastic runs off the ball, but he also works defensively, bringing meaning to the term “defend from the front”. Carlos also shows fantastic composure in front of goal and was unlucky not to get on the score sheet this past weekend.

Forward: Irvin Ramirez, U-18 Academy

Irvin was superb in his side's 1-0 loss to the Dallas Texans at the weekend. The gifted forward proved to be a constant menace from the left hand side and was lively throughout.
