Ahead of the 2017 Generation adidas Cup finals coming up this weekend, MLSsoccer.com ran through the top prospects in each MLS team's academy, and midfielder Marcelo Palomino got the nod for the Dynamo.
Palomino "is a prototypical attacking midfielder capable of pulling the strings in the final third," the breakdown notes, who has been in the Dynamo Academy since he was eight. The midfielder even received minutes with the U-18s while he was only 13 years old.
The 16-year-old is one of only a handful in his age group currently enrolled in the U.S. U-17 residency program in Bradenton, Florida. He's received several call-ups to the U.S. U-16 Boy's National Team and trained with the Dynamo's USL affiliate, RGV FC, while they were in Houston for preseason.
