The Houston Dash will open training camp at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 4 at Houston Sports Park under the direction of head coach James Clarkson. All Houston-area media are invited to attend and cover the training session. Clarkson and Dash players will be available afterwards, at approximately 11:30 a.m. CST.
The club also announced its preseason schedule as the team prepares for the 2019 National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) regular season.
The Dash will play the women’s soccer teams from five Texas-based universities in addition to an intersquad scrimmage to prepare for their sixth season in the NWSL.
Houston will travel to Sorrels Field on the campus of Houston Baptist University for their first preseasons scrimmage of the year at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 7. Houston’s preseason roster will face HBU in a scrimmage played over three 30-minute periods.
Houston will host the University of Texas women’s soccer program at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 9 at Houston Sports Park. The Longhorns finished the season with a 13-5-3 record and finished ranked in the top 20 by the NCAA.
The Dash will host an intra-squad scrimmage at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 16 at Houston Sports Park prior to traveling to College Station for their only preseason match outside of Houston.
Houston will face Texas A&M at 5 p. m. on Saturday, March 23 at Ellis Field on the TAMU campus. The Aggies finished with a 17-5-1 record and advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2018 NCAA Women’s College Cup.
The Dash will conclude their preseason with a doubleheader at Houston Sports Park on March 30. Houston will host Texas Tech at 2 p.m. and Baylor University at 5 p.m. as the Dash wrap up their preseason preparation with two teams that qualified for the Women’s College Cup last season.
