David Brady joined the Houston Dynamo and Houston Dash as the club’s Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer in November 2017. In his role, Brady oversees the club’s marketing and communications efforts, along with the club’s ticket sales and service initiatives.
A Houston native, Brady brings more than 25 years of marketing, promotional and ticket sales experience to the Dynamo and Dash, along with proven organizational leadership and crisis management experience.
Brady returns to the sports industry after spending the past nine years in the nonprofit sector, most recently as the Regional Chief Executive Officer for the American Red Cross. In that role, he oversaw all of the organization’s disaster relief efforts in the Gulf Coast region. Brady led the Red Cross’s relief and recovery efforts in Houston and throughout Southeast Texas in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey in 2017.
After graduating from Sam Houston State University in 1988, Brady began his career in sports as a group and season ticket sales executive for the Houston Rockets, followed by a similar position with the Houston Astros. After spending 14 years working in minor league baseball directing the marketing and broadcasting efforts for clubs in Stockton, Calif., New Haven, Conn., Tucson Ariz. and Camden, N.J., Brady returned to Houston in 2004 as the managing director of Lone Star Sports and Entertainment, the Houston Texans’ event management affiliate.
While with LSSE, Brady was instrumental in establishing Houston as one of the nation’s premier soccer markets by bringing a number of elite international matches to NRG Stadium. Among the events that Brady helped secure for Houston were the FC Barcelona tour in 2006 in which the then-reigning UEFA Champions League winners played Mexican giants Club América before more than 70,000 fans in a doubleheader that also featured the Dynamo and the LA Galaxy. Brady also helped secure events such as the 2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup, and a 2008 friendly between the United States Men’s National Team and Mexico.
In addition to his role with Lone Star Sports and Entertainment, Brady also put his broadcasting experience to use as the public address announcer for Houston Texans home games, a role which he has performed since 2006.
Brady left the Texans and LSSE in 2008 to move into the nonprofit industry as the Chief Marketing Officer and Vice President for Advancement for the Houston Zoo. He launched the Zoo’s popular “Zoo Lights” holiday initiative as well as the annual “Feast With The Beasts” event, each of which generated significant increases in ticket sales and revenue. Under Brady’s leadership, the Houston Zoo more than doubled its annual attendance and was the second-most visited zoo in the United States in 2016.
David and his wife Annie live in Houston with their three children, Peter and twins Maggie and Jack.
