Team

Dynamo 2, Puntarenas 0

Playing their first home game outside of Houston due to the unavailability of Robertson Stadium, the Dynamo produced two goals to win their first ever international series. The Dynamo elected to play in all-white uniforms at Texas A&M University, leaving Puntarenas to wear the orange of A&M’s hated rival, the University of Texas. Paul Dalglish netted a rebound in the 27th minute to tie the series, and Brian Ching came on as a sub to set up the second goal with a header off the post, Kelly Gray converting the winning tally in the 74th minute. It was the first MLS victory against a Costa Rican team in CONCACAF play since 2000.
