Dynamo 2, Pachuca 5 (ET)

The Dynamo almost pulled off the biggest series win in league history but ultimately fell to a relentless Pachuca attack. Houston’s aggregate lead was erased within 15 minutes, but the series remained tied into the second half. Brian Mullan and Brian Ching both gave the Dynamo one-goal leads in the second half, but Pachuca responded each time. A hat trick from Christian Giménez, including two penalty kicks and an amazing long-range strike in extra time, proved decisive as Pachuca advanced to the Champions’ Cup final and went on to win the continental title.
