Summary

The Dynamo’s 11-game unbeaten streak came to an end in a shutout loss against the Galaxy. Todd Dunivant scored the only goal, redirecting a Mike Magee cross after a short corner kick.

Notes

The Houston Dynamo's unbeaten streak ended at 11 games (8-0-3) with a 1-0 road loss to the Los Angeles Galaxy Sunday night at The Home Depot Center. It was Houston's first loss since April 4 and first time being shutout since April 11. The Dynamo remain in first place in Major League Soccer and the Western Conference with 28 points through 15 games, halfway through their league schedule.

The Galaxy scored the only goal of the game in the 24th minute, when midfielder Mike Magee took advantage of a short corner kick and fired a back-post shot that deflected in off of defender Todd Dunivant, his first goal of the year.

The Dynamo's best chances came in the second half, once when Brian Ching appeared to be pushed over in the penalty area, and later when Cam Weaver's back-post volley was saved by Galaxy goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts.

The Dynamo's 11-game unbeaten streak finishes tied for the longest such streak in team history, both in all competitions and in MLS play; it is tied in each category by a different streak.

Midfielder Brian Mullan made his 200th career MLS start, and defender Richard Mulrooney made his 260th career MLS appearance. Forward Kei Kamara surpassed the 1,000-minute mark this year in MLS play, a career high.

For the fifth straight game, the Dynamo played without midfielder Ricardo Clark (U.S. national team). Houston was also without midfielder Danny Cruz (U.S. U-20 national team) and defenders Andrew Hainault (Canadian national team), Eddie Robinson (disabled list), Wade Barrett (gastrocnemius strain), and Craig Waibel (hamstring strain), although Waibel was on the bench.
