The Houston Dynamo encourage all fans throughout the Greater Houston Area to Go Orange on Thursday, April 1, in support of the Dynamo’s 2010 home opener. All fans are asked to don orange or other Dynamo apparel in a show of unified support for the city and the team.
The Dynamo will host 2009 MLS Cup champion Real Salt Lake at Robertson Stadium on Thursday night at 8 p.m. The first 7,500 fans through the stadium gates will receive a free Dynamo magnet schedule, courtesy of Taco Bell. The game will be nationally televised on ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes, so the Dynamo are hoping to see all of Houston’s orange on Thursday.
“We are proud of the support we received from our fans on Dynamo Day for last year’s playoff game against Seattle, which turned into one of our most memorable moments,” Dynamo President / General Manager Oliver Luck said. “On Opening Day this year, we know our fans can take this concept to the next level and get behind the wearing of orange, making it even bigger than last year. We’re hoping to create a loud, enthusiastic home-field advantage, with a sea of orange greeting our players when they take the field and exposing a national viewing audience to the best fans in Major League Soccer.”
After hosting Real Salt Lake Thursday night, the Dynamo will also host Western Conference rivals Los Angeles and Chivas USA on April 10 and April 17, respectively, at Robertson Stadium. Houston finished tied with Los Angeles for first place in the Western Conference last year, with Chivas USA finishing fourth.
