Brian Ching hopes to heal in time to make Bob Bradley's U.S. World Cup roster.

Bob Bradley named 30 players to the preliminary roster of the U.S. men’s national team Tuesday afternoon. Dynamo forward Brian Ching was selected as one of six forwards and will report to camp this weekend. Although he suffered an injury on April 1 that has kept him from game action, Ching believes he is fit and ready to contribute to the World Cup team. He will be available for the Dynamo on Thursday.


Dominic Kinnear’s switch from a 4-4-2 formation to a 4-5-1 (or 4-3-3, depending on who you ask) worked for the Dynamo; the same cannot be said for other team’s formation changes. With last week’s split, the Dynamo fell to 5th in ESPN.com’s Power Rankings. Steve Davis put Houston 5th in his weekly power rankings and named Dynamo defender Craig Waibel to his Team of the Week. Goal.com rewarded the Dynamo for their win at Chivas and ranked them 3rd in its weekly power rankings.
