Following last night’s 4-2 loss to Czech Republic, U.S. national team head coach Bob Bradley announced the 23 players that he would be taking to South Africa.
As with any type of selection, the analysis of Bradley’s roster is coming from all corners. General consensus believes the biggest snub to be Dynamo forward Brian Ching. Grant Wahl believes that Bradley went with speed, instead of experience, in his decision to select Robbie Findley in place of Ching. Herculez Gomez and his teammates will head to the White House tomorrow to be congratulated by President Barack Obama and former President Bill Clinton.
Although not from South Africa, Dominic Oduro, Sammy Appiah and Joseph Ngwenya are proud their native continent is hosting the World Cup and look forward to the coming festivities.
In a field goal kicking exhibition at Reliant Stadium this afternoon, Dynamo defender Craig Waibel converted seven of his 10 field goal attempts. As a result, Houston Texans’ kicker Kris Brown will donate $700 and Waibel will donate $300 to the “Bald is Beautiful” campaign.
Dynamo forward Dominic Oduro was rewarded for his half-volley goal over the weekend with AT&T Goal of the Week honors.
