After a disappointing start to the month, both Dynamo Academy squads rebounded to win two out of three games at the USSF Development Academy Spring Showcase and close their regular seasons with resounding wins on Monday.

Entering Monday's game against Arsenal FC, the U-18s sat in 12th place in the wildcard standings, with only 12 wildcard spots available for the USSF Development Academy playoffs. After defeating the Virginia Rush 3-1 on Saturday, the Dynamo came out strong Monday and defeated a very tough Arsenal squad 3-0. Martin Castillo (Pasadena Sam Rayburn) scored twice, and Abe Matamoros (Strake Jesuit) added a third to keep Houston's playoff hopes alive.

The Dynamo controlled play for much of the game and did not allow Arsenal to move the ball. The U-18s must now wait to find out if the two wins to end the season were enough to punch their ticket to postseason play.

For the past two months, the U-16s have struggled to put points on the board, but the team played inspired soccer over the weekend, capping things off with a 5-2 victory over the Richmond Strikers on Monday. Forward Bryan Salazar (Fort Bend Bush) scored two goals for the second straight game. Isaiah Noreiga (Humble Kingwood Park), Gabriel Moreno (Pearland), and Alfredo Gallegos (Houston Lamar) each tallied a score for the Dynamo in their biggest win of the season.
