With the 2010 AT&T MLS All-Star Game less than a month away, one of the big questions on everyone’s mind is whether or not Mexican sensation Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez will appear with his new club, Manchester United, when they take on the MLS All-Stars on July 28 at Reliant Stadium.

Manchester United’s website reported the following: “Manchester United is pleased to announce that Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez has been granted a work permit and will join the club (early-mid July). Chicharito, who has already passed a medical and agreed to personal terms, will join United’s squad on the Philadelphia leg of July’s pre-season trip to the USA and Canada.”

In a May 18 news conference with Major League Soccer, Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson also confirmed that Chicharito is scheduled to join the team in Philadelphia as part of their preseason North American tour.

“He’s young, and I think he can handle coming into training with the team,” Ferguson said. “The most important part is to integrate him with the squad, because he doesn’t know any of the players. So it’s an important period to get him to join us.”

Chicharito was signed by Manchester United in April after scoring 10 goals in eight games for Mexican club Chivas de Guadalajara. One of soccer’s brightest young stars, Chicharito appeared in four matches for Mexico in the 2010 FIFA World Cup and scored two goals, including one in the Round of 16 against Argentina.
