The Houston Dynamo tied Chivas USA 1-1 last night in their second Group A SuperLiga match. Houston wasted an opportunity to clinch a spot in the semifinals and can now advance with a win or a tie against Puebla on Wednesday or a loss or a tie by Chivas USA against Pachuca, also on Wednesday. Midfielder Lovel Palmer scored his third goal of the season for Houston and Brad Davis made his 150th appearance in all competitions for the Dynamo. Although Houston got off to a blazing start with Palmer's early goal, the Dynamo had difficulty scoring the rest of the night and allowed Chivas to hang around to equalize in the second half.

Former Dynamo player Luis LandÃn has signed a contract with Mexican club Atlante, not to be confused with the U.S. club, Atlanta, of the United Soccer Leagues. Speaking of Atlanta, prominent business leaders in the city are looking at ways to bring a professional franchise, and eventually the World Cup, to Atlanta.
Major League Soccer announced the complete roster that will compete against Manchester United in the 2010 AT&T MLS All-Star Game. Brad Davis and Brian Ching were named reserves to the squad. Jesus Ortiz of the Houston Chronicle reported yesterday that Dynamo forward Brian Ching had been named one of the two commissioner's selections to the 2010 AT&T MLS All-Star Game. Ortiz believes Ching is a worthy selection, not only because he is the face of the Dynamo franchise, but because he has been an ambassador for U.S. soccer throughout his career.
Jose Francisco Torres, better known as 'El Gringo' in soccer circles, is a former Texan who is a rising star in U.S. soccer and could play a major role in the success of future national teams. Torres and Pachuca teammate Herculez Gomez spoke to the Chronicle about the benefit of being able to enjoy both American and Mexican cultures.
