Dynamo to hold prospective player combine

The Houston Dynamo will hold an invitation-only combine for prospective players this week at the Carl Lewis Track & Field Complex at the University of Houston, it was announced today. Training sessions will be held Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

The combine will include more than 10 prospective professionals from at least three continents, along with three players from the Dynamo Academy, presented by Statoil. Three players from the Dynamo first team will round out the group.

The Dynamo Academy players who will participate are the U-18 team’s leading scorer, Chance Bergen (Cy Woods); speedy forward Jade George (Langham Creek); and newcomer Diego Velazquez (San Antonio Johnson). All three players graduated from their respective high schools last spring and are current members of the U-18 team.

From the Dynamo first team, 18-year-old Francisco Navas Cobo will join the field players to stay sharp in the offseason, while goalkeepers Tyler Deric and Tally Hall will step in for finishing drills and scrimmages.

The Houston Dynamo are a Major League Soccer club that has won two MLS Cup championships in its first five seasons and represented the United States in international competition four consecutive years from 2007-10. For more information, log on to www.HoustonDynamo.com or call (713) 276-7500.
