Dynamo Academy teams went 1-2-1 on the second day of the Dallas Cup Monday, highlighted by the U-16 squad improving to 2-0 in the tournament with a 2-1 win in a rematch of last year's U-16 championship game. All four Houston teams will conclude group play on Wednesday.

The Dynamo U-19s faced Eintracht Frankfurt, which had opened the tournament with a 4-0 win over Alajuelense on Sunday. Although shots on goal for the game were even at 7-7, Eintracht was more clinical in front of goal and came away with a 3-0 win, dropping Houston to 0-2. Eintracht scored in just the third minute, but Houston rebounded to control the half and had a chance to tie the game when Miguel Zapata crossed for Abé Matamoros, but the Dynamo captain was denied in the penalty area. Eintracht then made it 2-0 shortly before halftime and added a third goal in the second half. Goalkeeper Pedro Gutierrez Mora made four saves for the Dynamo, who will face Alajuelense on Wednesday.

At the U-16 level, defending champion Houston improved to 2-0 with a come-from-behind win over California's Santa Clara Sporting, the club that the Dynamo beat in last year's final. In this year's game, Sporting controlled the first half and led 1-0 at the break. The Dynamo, however, responded with an inspired second-half performance and two great goals from Lorenzo Salazar, one set up by Alex Ochoa, to earn the win by the same 2-1 margin as in last year's final. At 2-0, Houston will conclude group play against Alberta on Wednesday.

In the U-15 age group, the Dynamo fell to 1-1 after a 4-1 loss to FC Dallas Premier. Trailing 1-0 just before halftime, the Dynamo conceded a second goal in first-half stoppage time and lost momentum going into the break. The Dynamo U-15s, however, could not have started the second half any better. Just three minutes into the second half, Irvin Ramirez was able to break free from the FC Dallas defense and score on a well-placed shot to bring the Dynamo within a goal. Houston was unable to muster another goal, as FC Dallas went on to a 4-1 win. Houston will face Alberta on Wednesday and still stand a chance of advancing, depending on the match's result and goal differential.

The Dynamo South Texas Academy earned its first point of the tournament with a 2-2 tie against Canadian club Ajax Gunners but is 0-1-1 in the regular U-19 bracket. The DSTA will conclude the tournament against the DFW Tornadoes on Wednesday.
