Dynamo equity partner Oscar De La Hoya charters bus to MLS Cup final

With the Houston Dynamo competing in their third MLS Cup final in six years and playing in their opponent’s home stadium, club equity partner Oscar De La Hoya has chartered a bus to give supporters a ride to Southern California for Sunday’s match.

“We are lucky that Oscar decided to send our supporters to Los Angeles for the MLS Cup,” said Dynamo senior vice president Rocky Harris. “Many of our supporters couldn’t afford the airfare and wouldn’t be able to attend the match without Oscar’s generosity. Our team feeds off of our supporters’ chants and cheers, and they will feel at home when they look up to the sea of orange in the northeast corner of The Home Depot Center.”

The bus will leave Houston on Saturday morning and arrive in the Los Angeles area on Sunday morning in time for the annual MLS Supporters’ Summit with MLS Commissioner Don Garber. The bus will leave The Home Depot Center soon after the match and return to Houston late Monday night.

“Being able to see your team play in the MLS Cup final is the opportunity of a lifetime, and I’m happy that the Dynamo ownership is helping out fans that otherwise would not have been able to see the game,” said James Hromadka, a member of the Texian Army’s board. “I’m thankful that the Dynamo and Mr. De La Hoya listened to their supporters that were struggling to make travel arrangements and found a way to make it happen for those supporters. I hope that this is the beginning of a strong and rewarding relationship with Mr. De La Hoya and the rest of the Dynamo ownership.”

Currently on a five-game win streak and nine-game unbeaten streak, the Eastern Conference champion Dynamo will play in their third MLS Cup final in six years on November 20, taking on the LA Galaxy.
