Dynamo renew English radio partnership for 2012 season

The Houston Dynamo and radio partner Clear Channel have renewed their broadcast agreement for the 2012 season, it was announced today. As in years past, Clear Channel will air most Dynamo games on SportsTalk 790 and select games on KPRC 950. The deal also includes a weekly radio show.

“We are very pleased to be continuing our long-standing relationship with Clear Channel and SportsTalk 790, which has been the home for Dynamo soccer on the radio since 2006,” said Dynamo president Chris Canetti. “We appreciate their support of the Dynamo and Major League Soccer and look forward to continued growth and success into the future.”

SportsTalk 790 enters its seventh season as the Dynamo’s English-language radio partner in 2012, with Dynamo communications manager Matt Pedersen entering his first season as the team’s play-by-play voice. Most game broadcasts will include a 30-minute pregame show and 15-minute postgame show. Home games will be followed by a 45-minute call-in show, presented by San Jacinto College, with Houston soccer personality Glenn Davis. During the week, Davis will continue to host Dynamo All-Access, a two-hour show which  airs on Monday nights.

“We are thrilled to be able to continue our partnership with the Dynamo,” said Bryan Erickson, Clear Channel AM Operations Manager.  “We’re looking forward to another exciting year of soccer on SportsTalk 790.”

The first English-radio broadcast of the 2012 season is scheduled for Sunday, March 11, as the Dynamo face off against Chivas USA at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.  Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT.
