Dynamo Juniors adds new program in Florida

The Houston Dynamo are continuing to expand their youth development foothold thorughout the country and are excited to announce that two Florida clubs, with long-standing soccer histories, have recently signed on become Dynamo Juniors affiliates. Valrico Soccer Club and Florida Revolution Soccer Club, based in Tampa, Fla., will now be known as Houston Dynamo of Tampa. These clubs will continue to provide a competitive youth soccer program for the Tampa area and surrounding communities.     


“The affiliation with Revolution and Valrico to form one competitive club brings great energy to our program and we’re looking forward to a successful venture with them in joining our other club affiliations” says Kevin Mooney, Director of the Dynamo Juniors program. “Their experienced coaching staff of former professional players and coaches fits in very well with our program goals and club expectations.”


As part of the agreement, the Dynamo Juniors program will provide organization, guidance and assistance with Houston Dynamo Tampa’s training, methodology and curriculum. Both coaches and players will have access to Dynamo Juniors resources and exclusive educational events. Other benefits include:


  • College Showcase Camp led by the Houston Dynamo staff and regional college coaches.
  • Opportunity to host an MLS exhibition game
  • Other community-based events such as MLS player appearances, fundraisers and tournaments
  • Travel to Houston to watch an MLS match with professional player meet-and-greets


“We are thrilled to have been selected into the Dynamo Juniors program. We now have the ability to leverage the proven success of the Houston Dynamo and Major League Soccer’s youth development program,” said Jim Lyons, President of Houston Dynamo Tampa. ”Giving our kids the chance to be trained by professionals and exposed to higher levels of play will improve their chances to play soccer at the next level … including youth national teams, colleges and within the Houston Dynamo system.”


“The Tampa area is a traditional hot bed of talent and we look forward to offering all the members some amazing opportunities with the Dynamo Juniors program and MLS affiliation,” said James Clarkson, Dynamo Director of Youth Development.
