FRISCO - The Houston Dynamo Reserves remained perfect in the MLS Reserve League with a 1-0 win over the FC Dallas Reserves on Tuesday night at FC Dallas Stadium. Cam Weaver delivered the winning goal in the 83rd minute and a strong defensive effort preserved a third consecutive shutout as the Dynamo Reserves moved to 3-0-0 in Reserve League play.

After the Dynamo had hit the post twice earlier in the match, Colin Rolfe and Weaver partnered for the Houston goal seven minutes from time. Rolfe made a run down the middle, getting past the FC Dallas back line and drawing the attention of goalkeeper Chris Seitz before laying the ball off to Weaver, who slotted home the winning goal. It was the second Reserve League goal for Weaver in as many games, as he also scored the game winner at Sporting Kansas City on March 27.

The Dynamo began the match on the attack, controlling possession for a large portion of the opening 15 minutes of play. Despite the pressure, FC Dallas’ defense managed to keep the match scoreless.

The best early chance for Houston came in the 16th minute when Kofi Sarkodie controlled the ball on the right flank before firing a cross across the face of goal. The low pass made its way through a crowd of players in front of goal before falling to a Alex Dixon at the back post. Dixon'’s first-touch attempt on goal went high over the crossbar.

The Dynamo nearly scored in the 24th minute, as a ball popped out to Adam Moffat 10 yards outside the penalty area. Without hesitation, Moffat drilled a shot that hammered the right post behind Seitz before being cleared by the FC Dallas defense.

Dynamo goalkeeper Tyler Deric registered his third shutout in goal for the Dynamo.

Houston improved to 3-0-0 (9 points) with the win and handed FC Dallas (2-1-0) its first loss.

The Dynamo first team returns to action on Sunday when they meet the Chicago Fire at 6 p.m. CT at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, Ill. The match can be seen nationally on Galavision and heard on radio in the Houston area on SportsTalk 790 AM (English) and La Ranchera 850 AM (Spanish).

The Dynamo Reserves will play the Chicago Fire Reserves at 10 a.m. on April 16 at the Toyota Park Practice Field.
