Dynamo assistant coach Wade Barrett
Overall thoughts on the match

“We're happy to come away with the point. I thought the team started the second half really well. We came out pretty sharp and got a good goal. We're disappointed that we gave up that goal against so quickly and so poorly. It's definitely something we I think we can prevent. We let them back into the game. Then [the Crew] kind of wore on top of us for a while.”

On the Crew's lineup changes

“We knew there might be a couple changes in their lineup. Their coaching staff has implemented a style and no matter who they put out there, it was going to be to their gameplan.”

On the importance of coming away with another point on the road

“It's important to get three points. We try to get three points every game we play. We're a little disappointed that we maybe let an opportunity slip away for three points. We walk away with one and it's not so bad.”

Dynamo goalkeeper Tally Hall
On the defensive gaffe that led to the Crew's first goal

“I think it was a series of unfortunate bounces. I think Andre [Hainault] was trying to head it back to me and if that happens, then it's in my hands and we're in the clear. It's in between and then it bounces awkwardly to Geoff [Cameron], he tries to play it back and it's a difficult ball for him to do anything with- it's in his lap. [The Crew] took advantage of the fact that we made a couple of mistakes in a row. It's unfortunate. We can prevent that goal from happening.”

On the importance of another road point

“I think both teams are going to be saying that they're not happy with just one point and three points should have been their's. I think we're in the same boat. I've been proud of the way we've defended, not giving up goals. To give up two goals like that, it's disappointing. We know we're a good defensive team, so to give up a lead is disappointing for us. At the same time, we came back 2-1 down and scored a great, late goal. Great effort, we're walking out of here with a point. I think it's probably a fair result.”

Dynamo forward Will Bruin
On his goal to put the Dynamo ahead 1-0

“Moffatt whipped in a good ball and I had position. I just tried to bring my momentum far post because I saw the goalie was sitting on the near post. I just tried to flick it far post and it went in. “

On what makes Houston a threat on set pieces

"We're just a big team. Houston is known for set pieces. It's a very big part of our game. [Dynamo head coach] Dom [Kinnear] integrates that into our style of play that set piece can win or lose the game. It comes down to not being clicked in on one set piece or if you beat your man, you can win a game 1-0 or 2-1 off a set piece. It's a very important part of the game and Dom emphasizes it.”

On the importance of getting a point on the road

“It's huge. We went up, then we were unfortunate and put ourselves in a hole, but we found a way to come back and get a point out of them.”
