U.S. Soccer has announced the third-round possible pairings and locations for the 2012 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. Results from the second round of play next Tuesday, May 22, will determine the matchups for the third round taking place one week later on Tuesday, May 29.

The Houston Dynamo will be one of 16 MLS teams to enter the tournament in the third round. Houston will play the winner of next Tuesday's match between the Laredo Heat and the San Antonio Scorpions.

Regadless of the opponent, the Dynamo will be on the road for their first match. If the opponent is PDL club Lareado Heat, the Dynamo will play at Texas A&M University Soccer Complex in Laredo at 7:30 p.m. If the opponent is NASL club San Antonio Scorpions, the Dynamo will play at Heroes Stadium, in San Antonio at the same time.

The 99th edition of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup includes a random selection process for determining home teams from the first round through the quarterfinals among clubs that have applied to host. The process, conducted by a coin flip, gives participating teams with venues meeting tournament standards an equal chance at hosting their possible opponent for these rounds.
