The Houston Dynamo will begin their quest for the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup trophy when they travel to San Antonio on Tuesday, May 29 for a matchup with the San Antonio Scorpions. The Scorpions advanced to the third round of the tournament following their 2-0 win over the Laredo Heat, Tuesday evening at Blossom Athletic Center. The match between the Dynamo and the Scorpions will kick off at 7:30 p.m. CT at Heroes Stadium in San Antonio.

The Scorpions roster features a slew of former MLS players including former Dynamo players Ryan Cochrane and Kevin Harmse. In addition, Dynamo midfielder Josue Soto is on loan to the Scorpions for the 2012 season, but he is only eligible to play for the Dynamo in the tournament.

The 99th edition of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup includes a random selection process for determining home teams from the first round through the quarterfinals among clubs that have applied to host. The process, conducted by a coin flip, gives participating teams with venues meeting tournament standards an equal chance at hosting their possible opponent for these rounds.
