The seventh episode of Dynamo 360 airs at 5 p.m. Saturday on KPRC Local 2. Dynamo 360 is a studio show dedicated exclusively to the Houston Dynamo, with interviews, features and game highlights hosted by KPRC Local 2 Sports Director Randy McIlvoy. Saturday’s episode includes studio interviews with Dynamo forward Brian Ching, head coach Dominic Kinnear and Dynamo broadcaster Glenn Davis.
Ching and McIlvoy discuss Houston’s busy August schedule, the Dynamo’s push for the playoffs and Ching’s latest player initiative, Ching’s Champions.
McIlvoy asks Kinnear about Houston’s big win over Real Salt Lake on Sept. 6 and the health of the team with six games to play. They also discuss the challenges of missing players for international duty and Kinnear’s thoughts on the state of the team after the Dynamo finished a stretch of six games in 19 days.
Davis and McIlvoy discuss the dramatic win over Real Salt Lake, with several Dynamo players missing due to international duty, sickness or injury. Davis explains the importance of CONCACAF Champions League for the Dynamo, with two vital home games – Sept. 20 vs. FAS and Oct. 23 vs. Olimpia – looming to round out group play.
Dynamo 360 also features a trivia segment with veteran defender Corey Ashe, who is quizzed on various topics, including his last goal, his draft class and other Dynamo milestones, and Ashe passes the test with “orange” colors.
The episode also features Local 2’s Nick Giovanni, reporting from the Bald is Beautiful head-shaving event and Kyle Montgomery's behind-the-scenes feature on the Dynamo Girls as they prepare for a home game.
