"We are proud to participate in this event and support this cause," Kraham said. "One in three children born after the year 2000 will develop diabetes in their lifetime. That is a horrifying statistic and this race is only a small part of what we can do to end diabetes."

Kraham serves on the executive committee of Tour de Cure has a team fundraising goal of $50,000.

"We knew it would be a challenge to reach that $50,000 plateau, but the members of the team and the Houston community have rallied behind this cause and with a late push I feel as if we can get there," Kraham said.
