Dynamo Academy Team of the Week - Nov. 22

Click here for a recap of last weekend's matches against Texans Soccer Club.

Goalkeeper: Will Powell, U-13 Pre-Academy

Will has been stellar all season for the U-13 Pre-Academy team. The promising shot-stopper has made some big saves so far this season and we will look for more of the same as the season goes on.

Did you know? Will moved to Houston this year and attends Memorial Middle School.

Defender: Garrett Welch, U-18 Academy

Garrett was superb again for the U-17/18’s this past weekend. He has been one of the standout performers over the last few games and that didn’t stop this past weekend. The right back brings both strength and composure to the back line and we look forward to more to come from the 17 year old.

Did you know? Garrett attends Strake Jesuit High School.

Defender: Louis Thomas, U-18 Academy

Louis was a rock at the back for the U-17/18’s this past weekend. He not only provides great awareness and distribution from his center back position, but he also brings a great willingness to win that rubs off on his teammates. We look forward to more great performances from the charismatic defender.

Did you know? Louis is the captain of the U-18 Academy team.

Defender: Noe Ochoa, U-15 Pre-Academy

Noe was excellent for the U-15’s this past weekend. He was composed on the ball and won all of his aerial battles. He anticipated well defensively and got forward well when he could.

Did you know? Noe attends Pasadena Memorial High School and is due to graduate in the spring of 2015.

Defender: Albion Neziri, U-16 Academy

Albion was a calming influence at the back as the U-16’s beat the Texans 1-0 at the weekend. The center back was in the way of everything the Texans tried to do offensively and also helped his side maintain possession of the ball well from the back.

Did you know? Albion attends Nimitz High School and is due to graduate in 2014.

Midfield: Jacob Salome, U-15 Pre-Academy

Jacob played very well from his midfield position this past weekend. He did a great job of finding the ball and switching the point of attack. He took control of the midfield both offensively and defensively, working very hard on both sides of the ball.

Did you know? Jacob attends Northshore HS and is due to graduate in the spring of 2015.

Midfield: Daniel Sanchez, U-14 Pre-Academy

Christian put in yet another lively performance as the U14’s won 2-0 in Dallas this past weekend. The skillful and creative midfielder was at the heart of the play and rarely conceded possession. He has been a constant in the U14’s midfield so far this season.

Did you know? Christian is the captain of the U14 Pre-Academy team.

Midfield: Jommar Reyes, U-13 Pre-Academy

Jommar is one of two players to repeat in this week’s TOTW. He scored the lone goal in his side’s 1-1 draw this past weekend and again looked a constant threat from the middle of the park.

Did you know? Jommar has 7 goals in 8 games for the U13’s.

Forward: Matthew Alzate, U-14 Pre-Academy

Matthew scored his second in two games this past weekend for the U-14’s. Not only did he score the winning goal, but he also provided a much needed spark from the bench.

Did you know? Matthew was also named to last week's Dynamo Acadmey TOTW.

Forward: Gio Pacheco, U-16 Academy

Gio was superb in his sides 1-0 win over the Texans at the weekend. The gifted forward proved to be a constant menace from the right hand side and was lively throughout.

Did you know? Gio attends Pasadena HS and is due to graduate in spring of 2014.

Forward: Bryan Salazar, U-18 Academy
