The Houston Dynamo announced today their Reserve League schedule for the 2013 season. All home matches will be played at either the Houston Amateur Sports Park or at BBVA Compass Stadium.

Houston, the defending Central / Mountain Division champions, will open their Reserve League season on Sunday, March 17 when they play at FC Dallas. The match will be part of a doubleheader with the Dynamo / Dallas first team match. The first team match will kick off at 12 noon, with the Reserve League match to follow at 2:30 p.m.

The Dynamo's first home match will be on Tuesday, April 16 when they host FC Dallas at the Houston Amateur Sports Park. All home reserve matches are free and open to the public.

Under the new Reserve League format, the Dynamo will play four MLS teams home-and-away. They will also play a home-and-away series with USL Pro side Charleston Battery. The Battery defeated Houston 2-1 in a preseason scrimmage on February 23.

Similar to 2011 and 2012, the Dynamo Reserves will be co-managed by assistant coaches Wade Barrett and Steve Ralston. In 2012, Cam Weaver led all scorers with 11 goals as the Dynamo won their division with a 6-2-2 record.

Major League Soccer's Reserve League was designed to allow teams the opportunity to provide meaningful, competitive matches to players outside of the main lineup. MLS squads frequently use reserve games as an opportunity to look at trialists or as a way to provide minutes for Academy players with the first team. In 2012, six Dynamo Academy players, presented by Statoil, played in games for the Dynamo Reserves.

In 2013, the Reserve League will consist of two divisions, East and West, with standings based on points per game.

East: Chicago Fire, Columbus Crew, FC Dallas, Houston Dynamo, Toronto FC, New York Red Bulls, Montreal Impact

West: Chivas USA, LA Galaxy, Portland Timbers, San Jose Earthquakes, Vancouver Whitecaps FC, Real Salt Lake, Colorado Rapids
