Dynamo announce additions to digital media team

The Houston Dynamo today announced three new additions to its digital media team. Writer Tom Dart and anchor/reporters Sebastian Salazar and Sara Eckert have joined the club as contributors to its digital media platforms.  


Dart will be a featured writer at HoustonDynamo.com and contributor to the Dynamo gameday digital program. His writing experience includes 12 years at The Times of London (2000-11), beginning as a freelance researcher and progressing to staff soccer reporter, editor and columnist. Dart’s experience includes coverage of the English Premier League, UEFA Champions League and 2006 and 2010 FIFA World Cups. Dart moved to Houston in 2011 and has provided freelance writing on sports and news for publications including The Times, The Guardian (UK), The Independent (UK), The Houston Chronicle and SI.com (Sports Illustrated).

Salazar will host and report for Dynamo TV, the official YouTube channel of the Dynamo. Salazar is also an anchor and reporter for Comcast SportsNet Houston and hosts Dynamo Weekly, the network’s weekly Dynamo magazine show. As part of his role with CSN Houston, Salazar hosts pregame and postgame shows for Dynamo broadcasts on the network. He joined CSN Houston from D.C. United of Major League Soccer, where he served as the club’s staff reporter. Salazar’s TV experience includes anchor and reporter roles with WDNN in Dalton, Ga., and WHSV in Winchester, Va.

Eckert will also host and report for Dynamo TV and is a reporter for CSN Houston. Eckert is a native of La Grange, Texas and graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. Her experience includes time as a training camp reporter for the Dallas Cowboys and several freelance production positions in TV and radio. She was also a reporter for WTAJ-TV in Altoona, Pa., covering Penn State and Saint Francis University athletics, as well as the minor league affiliates of the Pittsburgh Pirates.


Dynamo content will be hosted on a variety of sources, including the official website, Dynamo TV and a soon-to-be-launched Dynamo mobile app. Additionally, team news and information will continue to be distributed through the club’s Facebook and Twitter pages. These distribution channels offer fans comprehensive, daily coverage of the Dynamo, the Dynamo Academy and soccer in Houston.


Fans attending matches at BBVA Compass Stadium can visit the new Dynamo Social Media Center on the stadium concourse (near section 118) to learn about the club’s social media plans, participate in promotions, and receive gifts when signing up for the Dynamo app, following the Dynamo on Twitter or liking the Dynamo on Facebook.


The Dynamo host the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at BBVA Compass Stadium. Tickets start at $24 and are available here, by calling (713) 276-GOAL or at the stadium ticket office (2200 Texas St., Houston) from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
