When the Dynamo take the field against the Portland Timbers on Saturday night, they will have to do it without the forward pair that started last year's MLS Cup final. Will Bruin and Calen Carr were both listed as "Out" on this week's Dynamo injury report, presented by The Methodist Center for Sports Medicine.
Carr's inclusion on the report should come as no surprise to Dynamo fans. The speedy striker is still recovering from the knee injury that he suffered in last year's championship match vs. the Galaxy. Bruin, however, finds himself on the report a week after opening his 2013 scoring account.
The third-year striker strained his left hamstring in last weekend's match. With the vacancy in the starting lineup, Dominic Kinnear will have to look to his bench to find a partner for Giles Barnes. Options include Cam Weaver, Omar Cummings and Brian Ching, among others.
Saturday's match against the Timbers kicks off at 9:30 p.m. CT on CSN Houston. The match can also be seen on MLSsoccer.com via the MLS Stream of the Week and it can be heard in Houston on 1560 AM and 850 AM.
