The Houston Dynamo will wrap up a three-game, cross-country road trip this evening as they visit the New England Revolution at Gillette Stadium. This will be the only meeting between the clubs this season and Houston looks to snap a two-game losing streak.
The Dynamo fell 2-0 to the San Jose Earthquakes on Wednesday to split the season series with Matias Almeyda’s squad. Forward Mauro Manotas returned to action after missing the first game of the road trip in Portland. The Colombian forward entered the game at halftime and generated two of Houston’s best opportunities to snap a three-game scoreless streak on the road. Forward Romell Quioto also returned to action for the Dynamo after representing Honduras at the Concacaf Gold Cup the previous evening in Los Angeles.

- ADDITIONAL FIREPOWER – Houston will have the majority of its roster available for selection on this evening as Darwin Ceren, Alberth Elis and Maynor Figueroa return to the club after competing in the Gold Cup. Ceren and El Salvador went 1-1-1 in the competition and finished third in Group C. Elis and Figueroa started and played 90 minutes in Honduras’ 4-0 victory over El Salvador on Tuesday evening. Romell Quioto entered the game in the second half for his second appearance of the tournament.
- OVERCOME TRAVEL FATIGUE – By the time the team returns to Houston, they will have been gone for 11 days and 10 nights, flown more than 6,600 air miles, been in five states and three time zones, and played three matches in eight days. This is the longest stretch on the road for the Dynamo this season and the club will face a short turnaround as they return to action on Wednesday as they play their fourth game in two weeks.
- REVOLUTION IN FULL SWING – The Revolution played the Eastern Conference-leading Philadelphia Union to a 1-1 draw on Wednesday at home. With the draw, New England extended its unbeaten run in league play to five games and a 2-0-3 mark. The Revolution struggled at the beginning of the regular season as they lost five of their first seven games. The club continued to struggle and parted ways with head coach Brad Friedel on May 9. Current head coach Bruce Arena took the reins on June 2 and in his first game in charge the former U.S. Men’s National Team coach defeated the LA Galaxy 2-1 at Dignity Health Sports Park.
