LOAN UPDATE: Brian Ownby guides the Kickers to another victory

With a tying goal in the second half, Houston Dynamo forward Brian Ownby led the way for the Richmond Kickers 2-1 win over the Los Angeles Blues on Sunday, July 21. The win marked a special occasion for the Kickers, as the team celebrated its 21st anniversary with a 21-game unbeaten streak overall this season.

It was not a promising start for Richmond. They let in a goal early in the 5th minute of action. It wasn't until the 76th minute that the game changed. Ownby began the Kickers' comeback for the Kickers by scoring off of a give and go play, driving the ball into the right corner. (2:30 in the video below). Then, in the 85th minute, David Bulow scored the winning goal off of a penalty kick.

Ownby now has five goals and three assists in 15 appearances for the Kickers, who remain undefeated (11-0-8) and second in USL Pro standings. Richmond's next match is Tuesday, July 23 at 6 p.m. CT at the Vancouver Whitecaps FC Reserves.

Ownby ends his loan spell with Richmond on Sept. 14.
