Welcome to the family, Riverhounds

Welcome to the family, Riverhounds fans!

We look forward to bright things in the future as our two clubs begin this new partnership together. A couple of things about us you may want to know:

We’re Orange – Just about everything—from our jerseys to our stadium and everything in between—is orange.

We win – Since moving to Texas from San Jose for the 2006 MLS season, we’ve hardly taken our foot off the pedal. Seven playoff trips, six conference final appearances, four MLS Cup Finals and, of course, two championship trophies in just eight years of existence.

We’ve got a steely resolve – Sorry for the steel pun, but over the years the Dynamo have developed a reputation as one of MLS’ toughest teams. When it comes to crunch time, we don’t back down from anybody and we get the job done. Our name itself means “power in motion,” with a nod to our city’s place in the energy sector as well as our team’s play on the field.

We have a new stadium – Yes, yours is newer. But ours still has that new stadium smell to it! Opened in May 2012, BBVA Compass Stadium holds just over 22,000 people and with the atmosphere from our fans and our famous Houston heat, it’s one of the toughest places to play in MLS. In fact, we hold the record for the longest unbeaten streak at home in MLS history. Oh, and as previously mentioned: it’s orange.

We may have 1,336 miles between us, but if you’re ever in the area stop by and catch a game! We’ll be within driving distance of Western Pennsylvania a few times in the 2014 MLS season as well, so feel free to grab some orange and check us out on the road as well (some dates are listed below).

The Hounds are first in your heart, as they should be, but if you’ve been looking for an MLS team to support, we’d love to have you around.
