The Houston Dash have acquired forward Stephanie Ochs from the Washington Spirit in exchange for forward Danesha Adams, the club announced today.

Ochs, 23, is currently on loan from Washington to Canberra United of the W-League in Australia. She was the only member of the Spirit to play in all 22 matches of the 2013 NWSL season, scoring one goal and tallying two assists. Ochs has scored four goals in seven games with Canberra United.

“Stephanie is a great addition to the Dash family,” said Dash head coach Randy Waldrum. “She is fast, athletic and relentless. She will fit perfectly in our system. Steph played for me with our U-23 national team, so I'm so excited to reunite with her.”

The San Diego, Calif., native played college soccer from 2008-2012 at the University of San Diego, earning West Coast Conference Player of the Year honors in her senior year. Ochs began her professional career by winning a championship with the Western New York Flash in the WPSL Elite in 2012. Washington drafted her with the first overall pick of the 2013 NWSL Supplemental Draft.

As a member of the U.S. under-23 women’s national team, Ochs was named MVP of the Four Nations Tournament in 2013, recording two goals and three assists as the United States won the competition.
