The Houston Dash have acquired goalkeeper Bianca Henninger from FC Kansas City in exchange for the team’s third-round selection in the 2014 NWSL College Draft, it was announced today.

Henninger, recently on loan with FC Bayern Munich of Germany’s Frauen-Bundesliga, played four years at Santa Clara University before being selected by the Philadelphia Independence of the now-defunct WPS in 2011. Henninger, 22, also played with the New York Fury of the WPSL Elite before being drafted by FC Kansas City in early 2013. The Los Gatos, CA native was also a member of the 2010 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup championship team and played in all 5 games for the Gold-Medal winning U.S. team in the 2010 CONCACAF U20 World Cup qualifying tournament.

"We made a great trade in solidifying our goalkeeping needs," said Dash head coach Randy Waldrum. "Bianca played for me with our U-23's, and she is one of the best young US goalkeepers out there. It's going to create a great training environment for both her and Erin [McLeod]."
