The Houston Dynamo Youth Programs have announced their expanded schedule for their camps and training, which this year will feature goalkeeper-specific programs and a second Residential Camp.
Tryouts for the spring 2014 Center of Excellence are scheduled for March 9. All participants are required to pay a fee of $5, which, if selected, will be provided as credit or applied to their training program. For players who are not selected the full tuition cost will be $265. The cost includes a full Dynamo training uniform, and other training and game opportunities with the Dynamo.
Centers of Excellence for field players will operate as weekly training sessions at select locations around Houston, utilizing an exclusive curriculum. Game Day Indoor in Pasadena is the newest location for the Center of Excellence Program. Existing locations are Lost Creek Park (Sugar Land), North Park (Kingwood), Tully Stadium (Spring Branch) and Moody Park (Houston).
Goalkeeper-specific Center of Excellence programs will begin on April 4 at a cost of $125 per player. The training program will operate as six weekly training sessions at Houston Sports Park for goalkeepers aged 9-17. A clinic on March 28 will precede this training program at a cost of $10 per player. Players participating in the clinic will have this amount applied to the full tuition cost. Dynamo Center of Excellence programs offer advanced training to elite male and female players aged 7-12 while also providing the first step into the Houston Dynamo Academy.
Summer Camp programs will start on June 9 for players aged 5–17. Full-day indoor and outdoor evening camps will be held in four-day sessions around Houston, South Texas and Louisiana. Pricing ranges from $125 - $350, depending on the specific program. All camp programs include a Dynamo training jersey and soccer ball.
The Houston Dynamo Residential Elite Camp has sold out the last two years. Because of this, a second camp will be held on July 20 in addition to the first camp, scheduled for June 22. Residential Elite Camps provide intensive Academy-style training sessions in a professional environment. Registration is available for $725 and it includes a Dynamo training uniform and full board. This year, the Residential Elite Camps will feature training sessions at BBVA Compass Stadium. These training sessions will be held only when the weather permits.
