The Houston Dash have announced that CSN Houston will be its official TV home in 2014.

CSN will air 11 of 12 home games live and in high definition from BBVA Compass Stadium. The first game of the regular season, scheduled for Saturday, April 12 against Portland Thorns FC, will air on CSN at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 13. All Dash games will air either on CSN or CSN Plus. Sebastian Salazar will handle play-by-play duties, while Jen Cooper will provide color commentary.

“We pleased to be working with CSN on carrying Houston Dash games on TV,” said Dynamo President Chris Canetti.  “The fact that they are willing to partner with the Dash in its inaugural year is a sign of the interest surrounding the team and professional women’s soccer here in Houston. This is another milestone for the club in its brief existence.”

“We’re very excited for the Houston Dash and their new relationship with CSN Houston, which will provide local fans with the opportunity to watch some of the world’s most talented female players in action,” NWSL Executive Director Cheryl Bailey said. “It is also another important step in the continued growth of the NWSL to have Houston become the second club in league history to secure a local television deal.”

Coverage of the Houston Dash will also be available through additional CSN media outlets.  These include online video and editorial coverage on csnhouston.com, SportsNet Central, the network’s daily 6 p.m., 10 p.m. and midnight sports news program, and SportsTalk Live, CSN’s live sports talk show airing weekdays at 5 p.m.

“We have a strong relationship with the Houston Dynamo and we’ve both been pleased with the high quality match production and partnership between the organizations.  Broadcasting the Houston Dash season is a natural extension of that partnership,” said Timothy (Murphy) Brown, Executive Producer and Vice President of Production of CSN Houston.  “We view bringing the Dash women’s soccer games to the Houston market as part of the network’s mission to be the best regional sports network serving Houston and the surrounding regions.”
