Houston Dynamo player milestones and notes from Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Montreal Impact

The Dynamo secured a 1-0 win over the Montreal Impact on Saturday at BBVA Compass Stadium. Below are some milestones and notes from the victory:

Will Bruin scored the winning goal in the 40th minute for his third goal of the new season after scoring twice in the season opener on March 8.Bruin leads Major League Soccer with three goals.

Bruin is the second player in Dynamo history to score in each of the first two games of the regular season. Brian Ching was the first, scoring four goals in the inaugural match in 2006 before scoring again in Houston’s second game. (Note courtesy of the Elias Sports Bureau.)

Following Houston’s upcoming off weekend, Bruin will have the chance to become the first Dynamo player to score in the first three games of a season when the club meets Vancouver Whitecaps FC at BC Place on March 29.

The Dynamo can also complete their first 3-0 start to a season with a win at Vancouver next weekend. Houston has never started a season 3-0, with 2-1-0 starts in 2012 and 2013 for its previous best opening to a season.
