The Pittsburgh Riverhounds, the Houston Dynamo’s USL PRO affiliate, remained on the road for the second straight game to begin the 2014 season and fell to the Richmond Kickers 3-1 on Saturday at City Stadium in Richmond, VA. Anthony Arena, Jason Johnson and Brian Ownby, all on loan with Pittsburgh, made appearances for the ‘Hounds.

Arena made his second straight start in defense after gaining USL PRO Team of the Week honors in the season opening draw at Orlando on March 29. Arena played 90 minutes and has played all 180 minutes of the season so far for Pittsburgh.

Johnson also earned his second consecutive start and played the first 65 minutes.

Ownby joined Pittsburgh late last week and made his Riverhounds debut against his former team in his hometown of Richmond. Ownby entered at halftime and played the final 45 minutes against Richmond, whom he joined on loan in 2013 and helped lead the Kickers to the 2013 USL PRO regular season championship, scoring seven goals and adding six assists in 19 games.

Goalkeeper Michael Lisch did not play against Richmond but was part of Pittsburgh’s 18-man gameday roster for the first time after joining the club on loan last week.

The Riverhounds open their home schedule on Saturday against the Wilmington Hammerheads.

The Dynamo and Riverhounds formed an affiliate partnership for the 2014 season last November. Pittsburgh spent a portion of its preseason training at Houston Sports Park and played the Dynamo in a preseason scrimmage on Feb. 19.
