The Pittsburgh Riverhounds, the USL PRO affiliate of the Houston Dynamo, opened their home schedule with a 4-3 defeat against Wilmington Hammerheads FC on Saturday. After two road games to open the season, the Riverhounds played before a standing-room only crowd of 3,902 at Highmark Stadium in downtown Pittsburgh.

Dynamo midfielder Brian Ownby played 90 minutes in his first start of the season after debuting with Pittsburgh on April 5.

Jason Johnson and Michael Lisch were both part of the 18-man gameday roster but did not feature for Pittsburgh.

Defender Anthony Arena, who played 180 minutes in Pittsburgh’s first two games, was recalled by the Dynamo for Saturday’s game at New England and was part of the gameday roster for Houston. Arena rejoined the Riverhounds on Sunday and is available for selection this weekend.

The Riverhounds return to the road on Saturday to face the Richmond Kickers at City Stadium in Richmond, VA for the second time in three weeks.

The Dynamo and Riverhounds formed an affiliate partnership for the 2014 season last November. Pittsburgh spent a portion of its preseason training at Houston Sports Park and played the Dynamo in a preseason scrimmage on Feb. 19.
