Carli Lloyd nominated for 2014 U.S. Soccer Female Athlete of the Year

Carli Lloyd is close to adding another prestigious award to her résumé, as she has been named one of five nominees for 2014 U.S. Soccer Female Athlete of the Year. The winner will be announced this Saturday, Dec. 6, during FOX Sports 1's coverage of the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup Final Draw at 11 a.m. CT.

Lloyd, who joined the Dash via trade in October, started 19 games for the USWNT in 2014, scoring 10 goals and adding eight assists. Both marks are second-best among American women this year. Lloyd played every minute of the CONCACAF Women's Championships and tallied five goals and four assists en route to the Golden Ball award as the tournament's MVP and the gold medal.

Lloyd has won Female Athlete of the Year once before, in 2008, and has been a finalist in each of the past two years.
