Telemundo Houston returns as the official Spanish-language broadcast partner of the Dynamo

The Houston Dynamo announced that Telemundo Houston returns as the official Spanish-language broadcast partner for the Houston Dynamo’s 2015 MLS season.

Telemundo Houston will broadcast 10 Dynamo games this year, a three-game increase from the 2014 season. Of these, five games will air live on TeleXitos, the new multicast network launched by the Telemundo Station Group in 2014. TeleXitos is available over-the-air on channel 47.2 in the Houston market (check local cable listings). Additionally, select games that air on TeleXitos will include a 30-minute pregame and a 30-minute postgame show. Houston Dynamo fans can watch the first Telemundo Houston broadcast of the 2015 Houston Dynamo season on Saturday, March 28 as the Dynamo host the Colorado Rapids.

“We are excited about our renewed partnership with Telemundo Houston and the opportunity to expand our Spanish-language broadcasts to TeleXitos,” Dynamo president Chris Canetti said. “It is important for us to have a Spanish-language broadcast partner that can effectively deliver Dynamo games into the marketplace. With the excitement around our new season and the group of new players, including Erick “Cubo” Torres, Raúl Rodríguez, and Leonel Miranda, the importance of this partnership is elevated in 2015.”

“Soccer is a passion that is lived minute-by-minute and game-by-game by our viewers.  We are thrilled that Telemundo Houston is returning as the Houston Dynamo’s official Spanish-language broadcast partner,” said Tony Canales, President and General Manager of Telemundo Houston. “We look forward to providing our viewers and the communities we serve with the best soccer content and coverage possible.”

In addition to airing 10 Dynamo games this season, Telemundo Houston will provide Spanish-language viewers with game updates and highlights on Noticiero Telemundo Houston, the station’s local newscast that airs weekdays at 4:30 PM, 5 PM and 10 PM. The tape delayed games will air immediately after Telemundo network’s national sports show Titulares Telemundo airs at 11 PM. Additionally, Telemundo Houston will air a monthly half-hour show that will provide viewers with top Houston Dynamo updates and game highlights.

The Spanish-language broadcast partnership agreement with Telemundo Houston completes the Dynamo’s broadcast platform, which includes a regional English-language television partnership with ROOT Sports Southwest. Additionally, 12 Dynamo games will be televised nationally by MLS broadcast partners Univision, ESPN and FOX Sports during the 2015 season. The platform also includes all 34 games broadcast through local radio partners GOW Media (1560 AM and 97.5 FM) and Liberman Broadcasting (850 AM, Spanish).

The Houston Dynamo will continue with the 2015 season on Friday, March 13 at 6:00 PM against FIFA 2007 World Player of the Year Kaka and Orlando City SC at BBVA Compass Stadium. For more information or to purchase tickets, call 713-276-GOAL or visit www.HoustonDynamo.com.
