Week 3 of the NWSL regular season didn't do much to separate any of the teams in the early goings, in what was the last game for many teams with their USWNT players. Let's take a look around last week's matches.

FC Kansas City 1-0 Seattle Reign FC

In a rematch from last year's NWSL Championship, FC Kansas City once again finished above Seattle Reign FC with a 1-0 win at Swope Soccer Village. Amy Rodriguez chipped USWNT teammate Hope Solo in the 47th minute for the winning goal, giving FCKC their first win of the season. Seattle lost their second straight match for the first time since August 2013.

Chicago Red Stars 2-2 Portland Thorns FC

Chicago and Christen Press raced out to a hot start with two goals in the first eight minutes of play against Portland, her second straight brace. But the Thorns clawed back with goals from Christine Sinclair in the 28th minute and Mana Shim just 90 seconds into the second half to stay unbeaten and at the top of the NWSL standings.

Boston Breakers 3-2 Houston Dash

Boston got their first win of the season in their first game at their new digs at Soldiers Field Soccer Stadium while handing the Dash their first loss of the year. Boston jumped out to a 2-0 lead behind goals from Julie King and Nkem Ezurike, but Jessica McDonald responded with two goals of her own to bring the Dash back level. A 72nd minute own goal off a Breakers free kick, however doomed the Dash as the team couldn't find another equalizer past Alyssa Naeher.

Sky Blue FC 1-3 Washington Spirit

Crystal Dunn led the Spirit right out of the gates with a goal in the 6th minute, then followed up with her second goal of the night 40 minutes in. Washington put the game away coming out of halftime, with Christine Nairn tallying her third goal of the year in the 48th minute. Sky Blue grabbed a consolation goal from Katy Freels in the 64th minute but had to settle for their first loss of the year, creating a logjam in the middle of the NWSL standings with six of the nine teams on either three or four points through three weeks.
