Today is loaded with regional rivalry games, beginning with the decisive semifinal matches in CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying (U.S. vs. Honduras and Mexico vs. Canada), followed by the Houston Dynamo and Santos Laguna in the BBVA Compass Dynamo Charities Cup. The night ends with the first-ever CONCACAF Cup, a one-game playoff between the United States and Mexico before a sellout crowd at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. The winner gains the region's lone berth in the 2017 FIFA Confederation's Cup in Russia. Dynamo defender DaMarcus Beasley called it the biggest game between the two rivals since the 2002 World Cup and the veteran is a candidate to start at left back for his 123rd career cap.
